Every art needs young successors
to build up hope for the future…
Utopia wishes to build a road…
On one end of the road is Bo-le the legendary
connoisseur of fine horses,
on the other end is the legendary Winged Steed,
in the middle is the street cleaner…
Cantonese opera is the local culture and art,
but since some dates,
Hong Kong people have become estranged from it…
Utopia wishes to build a platform…
On one end of the platform is tradition,
on the other end is modern times,
in the middle are the Hong Kong people…

Utopia Cantonese Opera Workshop
was established in 1999 by a group of young people
with an ardent interest
in the art of Cantonese opera. 
It has operated as a limited company since December 2001
and registered as a charitable institution.

  • Organize and co-organize sustained CantOpera performance of high standard
  • Provide opportunities for new CantOpera actors

Nurture successors on stage and in the audience, promote CantOpera internationally

  • Distribute CantOpera publications and A/V materials worldwide
     
保存研究  
Preserve precious CantOpera heritage, research on future production orientation
  • Collect, research & collate CantOpera resource materials, publish books & A/V products
